The Upsilon Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was originally chartered on May 19, 1921, establishing more than a century of brotherhood, leadership, and service at Illinois. Illinois hosts one of the largest Greek systems in the nation. Throughout the history of Upsilon, the chapter has brought together generations of students and alumni committed to scholarship, friendship, leadership development, and community involvement. Like many long-standing fraternity chapters, Upsilon has experienced periods of growth, transition, and reorganization over the decades, while continuing to maintain strong alumni connections and traditions. The physical house has been at several different locations over the last 100 years, but has resided in several different structures at 306 E. Gregory for the last 75 years. In 2004 the old house structure was torn down and a new house constructed. Today, the chapter and its alumni association are focused on building a strong future for Pi Kappa Phi at Illinois by strengthening alumni engagement, supporting undergraduate members, investing in the chapter house, and fostering a lifelong network of brotherhood and professional support.
